The backbone of our micro-tooling and machining is the Datron M7HP. This high speed 3D machining CNC combines a large working area 20" (508 mm) x 20" (508 mm) with high accuracy milling for a versatile solution to your small parts machining and injection mold tooling requirements.
The unit is equipped with a 60,000 RPM chilled 2.0 kW spindle, XYZ sensor probe, 15 tool automatic toolbox and vacuum based clamping.
This CNC excels at prototyping and mold insert machining and with the use of aluminum based inserts, can deliver a rapid tooling solution.
MasterCAM Mill X6 is in place for our CAM requirements. This widely accepted standard for Computer Assisted Machining software enables us to create or import CAD models suitable for tool path generation.
We use the best Hitachi and Datron tooling available to ensure accuracy and good surface finish with our CNC milling station. If you have a need for CAM programming and set up, we can help.
Our 3D CAD software design suite includes Creo 2.0. This software enables large assemblies and solids to be modified effortlessly which cuts down on design work but also reduces your products time to market as we can eliminate defects or do modifications before you go into the tooling phase of your launch.
In today's financial climate, you cannot afford to make mistakes due to lack or oversight or the wait associated with overseas vendors.
You also more than likely have to generate working capital through the release of Pre-Sales. We can generate renders based on your design to aid your marketing efforts after the product design stage is completed.
Coherent Laser OmniBeam 250
On the way for March 2013 is our Advanced Laser System.
This system gives us the ability to cut metals in precise layers or through cuts with thickness's up to 0.157" (4 mm).
The work is done on a 48" (1219 mm) X 48" (1219 mm) bed, with 12" (304 mm) of Z axis travel.
With the increased accuracy over chemical machining and no need for expensive photo-tooling, we can provide a great alternative for thin micro machined parts. We can also cut a variety of materials including paper, rubber, composites, plastics, and other non-metals.
The usefulness of the system cannot be understated, we can also do plastic to plastic, metal to metal, welding along with marking processes with a very low defect rate and high accuracy.
The advantage of using laser based cutting is a straight stress free and clean edge with no tool marks or loading.
Arriving in 2013 will be a new Boy 35E injection mold machine. This is strengthened with a barrel suitable for ceramics, and powdered metals such as stainless steels. We also have drying, resin mixing and integrated sensors to automate the molding process to deliver better cycle times, ensure quality, and use of a variety of plastics such as Polystyrene and Acetal.
